This service is the lifeline of the island communities on Fjelbergøya and Borgundøya, at the outer edge of Sunnhordland where the Hardangerfjord meets the sea. The ferry shuttles between the islands, Sydnes on the Kvinnherad side and Utbjoa in Vindafjord, crossing the Vestland–Rogaland county line on the water. On Fjelbergøya the old church stands near the shore, surrounded by parsonage farmland.
