Express boat from Bergen to Flåm
The Sognefjord is the world's longest ice-free fjord, and the express boat between Bergen and Flåm runs its full length — past Balestrand and into the narrow Aurlandsfjord, where the mountains rise straight out of the water. This is one of Norway's longest express-boat runs, and for many the finest car-free way to reach Flåm. At the end wait the Flåm Railway, the Stegastein viewpoint and the fjord village itself.

Practical information
Book early in summer: The route is popular with fjord travellers in June–August — secure seats well ahead, especially on morning departures.
Combine with the Flåm Railway: Boat in, train up the Flåm valley is a classic round trip — check train times against your arrival before booking.
No car on board: This is a passenger boat. If you need a car in Flåm, it has to be driven around via the E16.
